Dr. William Liang, DMD, DABOI, FAAID

Why us?

For the last 13 years, with hundreds of alumni in our network, we have supported local and international dentists establish a strong knowledge base and expansion of clinical skills in both foundational and advanced modalities within implant dentistry. We have a proven track record of delivering the highest level of education in Oral Implantology available.

This is what we are here for

Helping dentists like yourself launch and grow a passionate career in implant dentistry, where knowledge grows and skills are challenged to expand. In an environment saturated by other implant dentistry CE programs, we rise above the rest with our foundational and comprehensive educational offering. Rather than pander to corporate interests or educate merely to pad our own referral base, we are here to help you grow and to think critically about all aspects of this field.

We provide the full picture

Where other courses are forced to condense and gloss over important elements in the field due to time constraints, our 300-hour CE program has the time to delve deeply into a range of topics in implant dentistry.

Nowhere does this reflect better than within our surgical anatomy module. Far from simply teaching to a textbook, our world-class anatomist delivers information in a meaningful and practical way. The module culminates with dissection on cadavers - no holds barred. Explore vital structures, learn how it feels when such sites are violated and how to handle such circumstances. Place particulate and block grafts, augment the sinus, place implants, practice flap design and suturing... a realistic simulation lab prior to patient treatment.

We guide you, every step of the way

Hands-on application of your newfound knowledge is paramount to your ability to confidently and independently implement implants into your practice. Our curriculum incorporates Scaffolding: We put you in the driver’s seat when you’re truly ready. That means learning the principles and mechanics in lecture as well as observing a live demo before tackling a similar case yourself.

Our hands-on workshops begin on Day 1, with Modules 1-4 focused on Competency Development and culminating with cadaver dissection.

Modules 5-10 transition to Proficiency Development, where we invite you to bring patients to our program for one-on-one guided mentorship. Didactic material expands on previous topics, delving into more complex modalities and expanding your own definition of what is possible.

You will develop your patient cases and connect with our ABOI Faculty on how best to implement your clinical goals. Faculty work one-on-one with you throughout your surgery and provide feedback within the procedure as well as during your patient follow-up care.

We provide value for your time and investment

Where other courses can over-promise and under-deliver on the efficacy of your independent practice, our program's length and breadth gives you the confidence that you have learned it the right way. Our program doesn't graduate technicians (knowledge of merely how to do a procedure) but rather clinicians - dentists with an in-depth knowledge of the Why and When in implant dentistry. Critical thinking will make you a better clinician, provide more positive long-term results, and keep you out of trouble.

Moreover, we appreciate the large commitment you make to our program, and we price our tuition lower per CE hour than smaller courses, a stronger value proposition for your dedication.

You don't know what you don't know

… but with patience, hard work, and dedication, we can get you to the point where a safe, effective, and profitable implant practice is within your reach.

PROFICIENCY DEVELOPMENT - Modules 5-10

Having built the fundamental skills, live patient surgery is the main focus for hands-on development.

All participants receive one-on-one live surgical mentorship for cases on their patients.

Our faculty are all ABOI board-certified implantologists - the best guidance possible for your treatment success.

Surgical demonstrations led by faculty may include:
- Tooth extraction
- Socket/ridge preservation
- Guided implant surgery
- Bone (particulate, block) grafting
- Tunnel grafting
- Soft tissue grafting
- Sinus augmentation
- Ridge expansion and augmentation
- Single and/or Second Stage surgery
- Impression-taking & crown insertion

Participant-led surgery - on your own patients

Look for patients within your practice, reach out to family and friends - the goal is for you to find patients with bone grafting and implant clinical needs to push you 5-10% outside your current clinical skill comfort zone.

Work up your case in your practice, develop your own cases, present them to our surgical mentors, and receive guidance at each point along the way.

Learning how to work up the case, communicate treatment options with patients, and especially watch your patient's healing as well as learn how to handle complications - this is vital learning to make you a thoughtful critical thinker who can practice implant dentistry confidently and independently in your own practice.

Fees for performing surgery are additional and inclusive of all necessities. Visit the Register page on our website for full details.
